On July 22, 2024, Tengchong Education and Sports Bureau publicized the comprehensive evaluation results of 24 kindergartens in Jietou Town, Tengchong City, among which Xiangshan Kindergarten supported by Tin Ka Ping Foundation was evaluated as a Second Class Second Degree kindergarten up from Third Class First Grade.

Kindergarten rating is also an important part of the Preschools of the Future project. Officially upgrading the kindergarten level can effectively improve the teaching environment of kindergarten classes, further motivate teachers to improve the teaching quality, provide rural children with a higher quality learning environment and obtain better teaching, improve teachers' welfare and security, increase teachers' stability and realize the sustainable development of rural education.

Since August, 2023, with the support of Tin Ka Ping Foundation, the project of Preschools of the Future project has settled in Xiangshan Kindergarten, supporting three classes in Xiangshan Kindergarten. The project carried out school building repair such as wall painting and floor laying, and at the same time put a lot of teaching aids such as snowflakes, building blocks and basketball into kindergarten classes, and opened up vegetable gardens in kindergarten for children to practice. While improving the facilities and environment, the project regularly organizes teaching and management training to improve teachers' teaching quality and teaching literacy, and promote children's development through play-based teaching activities.

The kindergarten rating was given based on listening to the teacher report, checking the environment of the kindergarten, observing the activities of the day, questionnaire survey, discussion and interview, consulting materials, statistics and on-site feedback. After one year's project support, Xiangshan Kindergarten has obviously changed its environment, child activities and teaching activities. After evaluation by relevant people, Xiangshan Kindergarten was recognized as a Second Class Second Degree kindergarten.

The evaluation of kindergartens is one way to show the improved quality of rural kindergartens. In the future, HPP will join hands with the local Education and Sports Bureau and more partners to continue to provide more hardware facilities, teaching aids and other materials for local kindergartens, provide more help to teachers, improve teachers' teaching quality, teaching literacy and maintain teachers' stability so that more rural kindergartens can be upgraded and get higher grading.

Tengchong POF is funded by Tin Ka Ping Foundation, and HPP cooperates with Tengchong Education and Sports Bureau to assist in the implementation of the "One village, One preschool" policy. The project takes early education as the entry point, improves the hardware facilities and teaching aids of preschool classes and organizes professional and systematic training for teachers regularly. The project team regularly supervises preschool classes to help teachers solve difficulties and problems in daily teaching activities. In addition, the preschool classes have set up the parent committee, carried out parent training and promoted preschool-home co-education. The project focuses on game-based teaching, provides tools such as teacher management kits and teaching materials, improves the coverage of preschool education in rural areas, and improves the quality of preschool education in rural areas, so that more children can receive high-quality preschool education.
