Yunlong Township Central School of Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County

School Introduction: 

Yunlong Township National Primary School was founded in 1929, which was called "Four districts and two levels" primary school.  In 1940, it was officially renamed Yunlong Central Primary School.  From 1993 to 2004, it was named Yunlong Hope Primary School;  In 2017, it was renamed Yunlong Township Ethnic Primary School.  On December 27, 2004, the school moved to Yangmei Mountain, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the lake on the other side.  

Yunlong Township Ethnic Primary School is the only complete primary school in Yunlong township, is also the only full boarding school.  There are 255 students and 35 teachers.  The school covers an area of 14000 square meters, students occupy 38.15 square meters;  Green area of 1000 square meters, students occupy 2.72 square meters;  The building area of the school is 5182 square meters, each student occupies 14.12 square meters;  Sports area of 9810 square meters, students occupy 26.73 square meters.  

Equipment and facilities: Primary school mathematics, science, sound, physical and aesthetic equipment according to class I;  10.89 computers for 100 students;  12,373 books;  The proportion of full-time teachers with higher than the required education was 96.18%.

Project activities:

1) From September 2021 to January 2022, project personnel will carry out demonstration classes in school:  

GAIA team 3 conducted three demonstration classes in Shuanghua Hope Primary School, Sayingpan Town, Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, improving teachers' and students' awareness and knowledge of climate change and low-carbon environmental protection.

GAIA3 led the students to watch the documentary "Plastic Ocean" and called on them to protect the environment and reduce the use of single-use plastics.
