On October 31st, 2011, The ‘6th Experience Exchange Conference on International Cooperation Projects for HIV/AIDS Control in China’ was launched in Beijing. The conference was co-sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Health (MoH) and UNAIDS China, with the theme of “Sharing Experiences, Strengthening Cooperation”. Health Minister Chen Zhu confirmed China’s promise to control and reduce the spread of the epidemic by 2015. The Chinese government attaches great importance to AIDS prevention by leading and coordinating the work, Mr. Chen said. China also continues to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation and to deliver the necessary efforts to achieve the Millenniums Goals globally and contain the spread of the epidemic.
The conference discussed and concluded upon the important role and component the international HIV/AIDS Control projects have played since their inception in the fields of prevention, treatment and community mobilization. During this process international experiences have always been highly valued. Sharing and communication on relevant international information, esp. with our neighboring counties, has also successfully expanded the influence of China’s HIV/AIDS prevention work, and promoted the harmonization between international cooperation projects and China’National HIV/AIDS control strategy.

In March of this year, Farmers’ Clubs in Yuanyang project planted 225 mu corn and 130mu rices as the demonstration sites according to the new technique provided by experts from the Institute of Food Crops (IFC), Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

On August 26th to 30th in 2011, Director Luo in Shalatuo County Agricultural and Science station went to the demonstration bases to do the measure of the product. They went to visit the corn paired row planting demonstration site in Caoguodong and Fuzhai villages. They also visited the demonstration site of rice accurate quantitative planting.

On July 30th, 2011, SHV-HPP preschool project organized the children and parents to participate in the excursion to the Dongguan Science and Technology Museum. There were 32 families joined the activity, including 50 children in the preschool class and 34 parents. The activity aimed at broadening the mind of the children, and providing a good opportunity for children to learn history and progress of technology. It helped the parents and children have more time to interact and communicate with each other.

With funding of Philips (China) Investment Co. Ltd, Humana People to People started a new sustainable program named SimplyHealthy@Communities - improving children’s nutrition & health at the end of September. It is a part of Philips' worldwide program called SimplyHealthy@School. The target beneficiaries are the children in the Phlips Hope School which is located in Bannong village, Wenggake Township, Ximeng Va Autonomous County, Pu'er, Yunnan.

In May of 2011, Professor Yang Congdang, an expert who works in Yunnan Academy of Agriculture Science visited the Farmers' Clubs Yuanyang project site in Shalatuo Township to instruct on the normalized planting technique for rice transplanting.
Shalatuo Township Party Committee and Government attached great importance to this rice transplanting technique. 45 households participated with 120 mu of their fields being used for the pilot in Rong Village, Butou Village Committee.
Farmers’ Clubs Yuanyang project is funded by the European Commission Delegation in Beijing. The project activities were started in November of 2010.
