Since we started our first joint project in 2007 – the Asian Development Bank supported HIV/AIDS prevention and control project in Linxiang District – and thanks to the continued support of our partner the Foreign Capital Poverty Alleviation Project Management Center of Yunnan Province and our donors – the HPP CPO has grown to a dedicated staff of 85 fulltime and 235 part time staff, running 6 projects which already have served more than 2 million disadvantaged people in Yunnan with health education, Malaria, HIV and TB prevention, income generation, community development and preschool education.

In addition to HPP CPO, Humana People toPeople China supported projects are entrusted to or implemented by other entities.

-"The Federation for Associations connected to the International HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE Movement (Switzerland) Yunnan Office” (HPP YO) is HPP’s independent representative office in Yunnan that has recently (July 2010) been approved by the Yunnan Civil Affairs Bureau.

-“Kunming Humana Consultancy Company Limited” (KHCC) is a poverty alleviation consultancy company, wholly owned by Humana People to People Hong Kong Limited, that provides technical assistance to entrusted HPP projects.

-"Yunnan Institute of Development" (YID) is our local partner in Yuxi, Yunnan Province, which Humana People to People has cooperated with since 2001.

(Hereunder, the reader is to understand that “HPP China” refers to all the programs supported by Humana People to People in China, which may be implemented

or supported by one of the above entities.)

HPP China is currently working with 13 projects in 3 provinces of China (Yunnan, Sichuan and Guangdong) within the sectors of San Nong (Sustainable Rural Livelihoods), Health, Education, Urban Communities, and Volunteer and Leadership Training. We have reached over 2 million people since we started projects in 2007.

The main force within Humana People to People China is the outreach worker - the Farming Instructor, the Malaria Control Worker, the Area Leader, and the TCE Field Officer. These are the young women and men, recruited from the local communities in which our projects operate, who day after day meet with people, discuss issues with them, organize them, train them, and become a part of their struggle for creating a better life. It is the hard work, the humble work, of those who work shoulder-to-shoulder with the people that make a difference. They help others to realize their full potential, give them the tools and opportunities to take control of their own development, and create a culture of Solidary Humanism.
