On October 31st, 2011, The ‘6th Experience Exchange Conference on International Cooperation Projects for HIV/AIDS Control in China’ was launched in Beijing. The conference was co-sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Health (MoH) and UNAIDS China, with the theme of “Sharing Experiences, Strengthening Cooperation”. Health Minister Chen Zhu confirmed China’s promise to control and reduce the spread of the epidemic by 2015. The Chinese government attaches great importance to AIDS prevention by leading and coordinating the work, Mr. Chen said. China also continues to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation and to deliver the necessary efforts to achieve the Millenniums Goals globally and contain the spread of the epidemic.
The conference discussed and concluded upon the important role and component the international HIV/AIDS Control projects have played since their inception in the fields of prevention, treatment and community mobilization. During this process international experiences have always been highly valued. Sharing and communication on relevant international information, esp. with our neighboring counties, has also successfully expanded the influence of China’s HIV/AIDS prevention work, and promoted the harmonization between international cooperation projects and China’National HIV/AIDS control strategy.

In May of 2011, Professor Yang Congdang, an expert who works in Yunnan Academy of Agriculture Science visited the Farmers' Clubs Yuanyang project site in Shalatuo Township to instruct on the normalized planting technique for rice transplanting.
Shalatuo Township Party Committee and Government attached great importance to this rice transplanting technique. 45 households participated with 120 mu of their fields being used for the pilot in Rong Village, Butou Village Committee.
Farmers’ Clubs Yuanyang project is funded by the European Commission Delegation in Beijing. The project activities were started in November of 2010.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Asian Development Bank‘s (ADB) operation in China, ADB has published a retrospective collection of impact stories under the name of “Partnership for Prosperity---Impact Stories from the People's Republic of China". The stories highlight some of the successful development projects supported by ADB during these 25 years and describe the people and places benefiting from the projects.
ADB supported HPP’s Total Control of Epidemic (TCE) Project in Linxiang District, Lincang, Yunnan Province from 2007 to 2009. The attached PDF article is an excerpt from the ADB publication. It tells how Li Lun, a Field Officer changed her own community through her action. She visited more than 1,000 homes, educated about 5,000 people and made a difference in the community where she grew up. Li Lun epitomizes the people who are working on the frontline of the struggle and battle against with HIV/AIDS.

In the last weekend of July, 103 households in Jinjia village, Wanzhou District, Chongqing received 2,297 chickens from HPP’s Farmers’ Clubs Project in Wanzhou.
Jinjia village is one of 4 poverty villages in Puzi Township. One third of the villagers have left the village to find work in cities. There are 1,952 villagers or 438 households in the village, most of which are old people, women and children.
The local farmers were mobilized and organized to establish the farmers’ clubs since May 20, 2011. A Community Development Fund was started up in mid-June with the support of Citi Foundation. Villagers can apply to the fund and the Project Decision Making Group decides which applications the fund will support. All the activities ideas come from the villagers.
