"CITI foundation-Wulong Rural Development Project” is a rural comprehensive development and poverty alleviation project funded by CITI Foundation and implemented by the HPP and Poverty Alleviation and Development Office of Wulong County Project Management Office (‘PMO’). The project provides technical training, financial support, scientific planning and disease prevention and control services to poor families in a sustainable rural development model. It provides services to the villagers to improve their capacity of self development and poverty alleviation.

In order to improve young entrepreneurs ’ comprehensive capacity, according to the 2015 project work plan, CITI-Wulong Rural Development PMO organized a study tour to Fengdu County for 11 young entrepreneurs of Haokou township on August 21-22. They visited some young entrepreneurs in Baoluan Town, Fengdu County to have a look at their industries on site, such as ginger, walnut, black potato, fish/cow breeding etc. An experience sharing meeting for commercial production was also organized to promote the ideas for development of the young entrepreneurs  in our project, which helped to bring in new ways of thinking and methods for future development.

The cattle keeper Deng Congguo from Luoxin village said, “Visiting Fengdu cattle breeding farm is a good learning process for my future development and for expanding my breeding scale. In the mean time, it provides me with many scientific management and breeding techniques. When I get back home, I will improve my work from rebuilding the cow shed, reconstructing the feed pool to disposal of cow dung. I will become a good example of a scientific and standards using  cattle keeper in my village.”

PMO also organized an experience sharing meeting about commercial production and invited some young entrepreneurs from Baoluan Town to participate in the discussion about problems encountered, experiences and policies. Through communication and experience sharing, they did not only learn the growing process of each other, but most importantly they gained the successful experiences of the process.
