Hello everyone, my name is Yuan Mengzhu, you can also call me Zhuzi.

I am a junior student majoring in Tourism Management at Yunnan University, and part of the first batch of college students from “Preschools of the Future” Classes.

In 2008, the HPP Preschools of the Future Program came to Taozizhai Village in Zhenkang County and established the first preschool in the village. My parents sent me to this new preschool class when I was six years old.

I was very lucky, because before that, all my siblings went all straight into the first grade of primary school, but I was able to follow teacher Li Guojun and become a member of the preschool class.

I remember that the school building was simple, but it was the source of all the joy for more than 20 children. With the help of Preschools of the Future Classes, the roof of one of the school buildings was renovated, and we were given some teaching aids and picture books.

After 15 years, I entered the Taozizhai Village preschool class again this summer vacation, the school building was still the same, and teacher Li Guojun was still there.

It was only lately that I realized the significance and importance of pre-school education for a person, and I deeply appreciate teacher Li's perseverance which was rewarded with the dreams and more beautiful future of countless young people in our village.

It is also teacher Li who has always encouraged me to venture out of Taozizhai Village and not to be confined to this small part of the world.

Teacher Li, a native of our village, was unanimously recommended by the villagers to be the teacher of the preschool class when it was established. Although he is not a certified and trained teacher, he carefully prepares his lessons every day, actively participates in training and learning, and makes every class interesting .

In order to mobilize rural parents to send their children to preschool classes at the appropriate age, teacher Li ran from one house to another, telling the villagers the importance of going to preschool. Due to teacher Li's persuasion, everyone's attitude towards their children's pre-school education has changed greatly.

In fifteen years, Teacher Li has never been absent. Under his careful instruction, there are those who are attending university, and high school and middle school students.

I know that since 2008, the Preschool of the Future Program has been rooted in remote villages, supporting the children there to access quality preschool services. I would like to thank HPP's Preschools of the Future Program, teacher Li Guojun and all the teachers for guarding our futures and hopes with their hearts.
