——A Kick-off Meeting of FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Project

On March 13, 2021, a kick-off meeting of FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Projectwas successfully held in the Education and Sports Bureau of Qiaojia County. Ma Fasheng, Deputy Director in charge of education in the Qiaojia County Education and Sports Bureau, Yang Zhanbo, Deputy Director of the Education and Sports Bureau, principals and representatives of the central schools of Yaoshan Town, Dazhai Town, Chongxi Town and Baihetan Town, and principals from Qiaojiaying Village, Shuitang Village and Yeya Village, 16 people in total attended the meeting.

On the meeting, Ma Fasheng, Deputy Director in charge of education in the Qiaojia County Education and Sports Bureau, expressed affirmation and thanks to Preschools Of The Future(POF) Project in Qiaojia County. He mentioned that FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Project mainly aimed to improve the nutrition and health of local rural children. Also, the Education and Sports Bureau together with FAIHPP project team will work to promote the development of preschool education and protect the healthy growth of children.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director Ma Fasheng pointed out that the relevant education departments, schools of each village and town need to cooperate with the implementation of the project.

In the specific implementation process, we should do a good job in the transportation, storage and distribution of nutrition products, inform parents and mobilize them to participate, and ensure that children eat the nutrition products according to the usage strictly.

Then, Buzi Yiri, the FAIHPP project manager of Qiaojia County, introduced the FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Project. With the support of Danone's Early Life Nutrition, the project donated to local 3-6-year-old children nutrition packages conforming to national and local quality standards, including 1,380 boxes of basic nutrition packages, 720 boxes of multi-dimensional nutrition tablets and 300 boxes of compound nutrients, with a total of 2,400 boxes. It is estimated that about 800 children will benefit.

At the kick-off meeting of the project, the FAIHPP project team introduced to the leaders of the education bureau and school teachers in detail the eating methods, precautions, donation requirements, and other contents of the form. Finally, the on-site Q&A session ensured everyone have a clearer understanding of the specific implementation of the project.

All the nutrition packages have been delivered to the central schools on March 18th and will be arranged for students to use in subsequent school life.

The project manager Buzi Yiri is sharing the project introduction, and explained the implementation process of the project as well as some notices and answered questions.

"At present, most parents from remote rural areas in Qiaojia County have little knowledge about how to feed their children scientifically, and the food parents provide to their children every day cannot meet the comprehensive nutrition needs for children. Therefore, the implementation of the FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Project is particularly important for the local children who lack nutrition, and we should make every effort to cooperate with FAIHPP to apply this project to every child.” Yang Zhanbo, Deputy Director in charge of safety in the Qiaojia County Education and Sports Bureau stressed at the meeting.

During the meeting, leaders of each school communicated and shared with the project team about the beneficiaries, how to distribute, how to follow up children's eating situation and other issues during the project implementation. After the in-depth communication, invited by Xu Yuanping, Director of Student Financial Assistance Center of Education and Sports Bureau, Li Fafu, Xie Qun and Lang Lin, the staff of Qiaojia County Food and Drug Administration, tested compound nutrients, basic nutrition package and nutrition tablets, and kept the samples.

At the same time, through the inspection, the staff of the Food and Drug Administration agreed to distribute the nutrition products to the children in strict accordance with the usage and precautions of the products.

Distribution and collection of nutrition products

The successful opening of the kick-off meeting promoted the implementation of the FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Project in the schools of Qiaojia County. With the support and cooperation of the Education and Sports Bureau of Qiaojia County and the township schools, FAIHPP realized the concept of "children-oriented idea", and succeeded in focusing on rural preschool education and caring about children's nutrition and health.

Project introduction:

FAIHPP Children's Nutrition Improvement Project is a child nutrition improvement care activity "Care Project Plan" initiated by Danone's Early Life Nutrition (ELN) in Qiaojia County. The donated nutrition products meet the national and local quality standards, including basic nutrition package, multi-dimensional nutrition tablets and compound nutrients which are suitable for children in preschools.
